Job Summary
Conduct vital signs monitoring, EKGs, glucometry, and phlebotomy while collecting specimens and documenting all assigned patient care tasks. Perform patient mobilization using proper body mechanics, restock unit supplies, and execute equipment checks and maintenance duties as appropriate. Communicate changes in patient conditions and unit concerns to the team, take an active role in performance improvement, and assist in orienting new staff. Maintain awareness of the unit budget and participate in in-services and continuing education programs. Float as needed per unit and hospital policy. Work nights, 40 hours per week.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Basic computer skills
- Must be able to float as needed per unit and hospital policy
- Must be able to sit up to 7 hours per day
- Must be able to stand for up to 10 hours per day
- Must be able to walk 6 hours per day
- Must be able to consistently lift, carry and push objects up to 10 lbs
- Must be able to occasionally lift, carry and push objects up to 75 lbs
- Must be able to transport patients weighing up to 400 lbs via mechanical lifting equipment and/or other approved patient handling aids
- Must be able to perceive attributes of an object through touch
- Must be able to hear as it relates to normal conversation, and high and low frequencies
- Must be able to see as it relates to general, near, far, color and peripheral vision
- Must obtain BLS certification within sixty (60) days of employment or transfer to position
