Job Summary
Patient Care Assistant I assists patients with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, eating) and supports clinical tasks under licensed personnel. Responsibilities include taking and documenting vital signs and basic measurements (temperature, blood pressure, pulse, respiration), performing point-of-care tasks (EKGs, phlebotomy, 1:1 observation for safety), assisting with admissions/discharges, stocking and cleaning patient rooms, and documenting in the Electronic Health Record. The role requires effective communication with nursing staff, collaboration with the care team, and ability to lift up to 35 pounds with or without assistive devices. Education typically includes a High School Diploma or Equivalent with preferred BLS and various nursing/medical certifications. Location: onsite at Salem, MA Highland location; schedule includes evening shifts and 32 hours per week at Mass General Brigham facilities.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred
- BLS Preferred
- Certified Medical Assistant (National Certification) Preferred
- Nursing Assistant/Patient Care Technician Certification Preferred
- Experience working in patient care/elder care 0-1 year preferred
