Job Summary
Provide assistance and reassurance to patients upon admission to the Care Center and perform general nursing care functions as part of the care team. Execute technical and clinical tasks based on patient acuity, including phlebotomy services and EKGs according to physician orders. Deliver care that reflects an understanding of individual, cultural, and religious diversities while recognizing patient rights. Complete other functions and performance indicators as needed by the department. This role supports the hospital's mission to provide compassionate, evidence-based care to the Smithtown community.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
Desired Qualifications
- Completion of a CNA training class and/or Fundamentals of Nursing in a nursing program
- Minimum 1 year recent experience as a nursing assistant
- Certification in phlebotomy, EKG, and BLS
