Job Summary
Patient Care Assistant in Emergency Room needed to perform routine and specialized patient care activities under RN supervision. Responsibilities include collecting/documenting patient/family data, obtaining and notifying abnormal vital signs, collaborating with RNs to deliver high-quality, cost-effective care, prioritizing workload based on patient/family needs, contributing to care plans, and supporting development of self and others. Must be able to work in a fast-paced hospital setting during evening shift (3:00 PM – 3:00 AM) and comply with respiratory fit testing and occupational health standards. Requires H.S. Diploma or GED and a formal nursing assistant program/certification or enrollment in a BSN program with clinical rotation; at least one year of direct patient care experience.
Required Qualifications
- H.S. Diploma or GED Required
- Completion of a formal nursing assistant educational program or certification
- Currently enrolled in a BSN degree program with one clinical rotation completed at hire
- One (1) year of direct patient care experience
