Job Summary
Prepare and provide post-exam care for patients undergoing CT and MRI studies at William Osler Health System. Ensure patient completion of pre-screening documents, perform intravenous insertion where indicated, and provide instructions regarding gown changes and waiting protocols. Deliver basic patient care while maintaining customer service standards in a fast-paced, inter-professional environment. Prioritize tasks effectively and demonstrate critical thinking skills within a team setting. Requires a graduate of a certified medical laboratory assistant program with venipuncture experience; CPR certification and knowledge of diagnostic imaging workflows are assets.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of certified medical laboratory assistant program or equivalent program including venipuncture
- Health sciences background
- Medical terminology
- Venipuncture experience
- Customer service skills
- Multi-tasking ability/critical thinking/problem solving
- Team player/excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Organizational skills, able to prioritize
- Ability to work in a fast paced and inter-professional team environment
- Self motivated

- Ability to work independently or in a team environment
- Hours: Currently Days/Evenings/Nights, including weekends and statutory holidays (subject to change in accordance with operational requirements)
Desired Qualifications
- preference to candidates with medical radiation technology experience
- CPR certification
- Knowledge of diagnostic imaging procedures, terminology and workflow including CT and MRI
- Knowledge of diagnostic imaging computer systems
- Knowledge of MRI safety and radiation safety practices
- Previous training on safe lifting and transferring techniques
- Computer knowledge
- Innovative and willing to learn
- Demonstrate individual leadership
