PATIENT CARE ASSISTANT

Take and record vital signs, weights, and intake-output measurements. Encourage patients to turn, cough, and use incentive spirometry as specified by the Plan of Care. Ambulate, assist with transfers to wheelchairs, and transport patients when necessary. Provide morning or evening care including bed baths, oral hygiene, and changing linens. Empty drains, canisters, and bags; collect specimens as ordered. Perform phlebotomy and EKG with required training. Promptly answer call lights and report significant condition changes to the RN. Maintain infection control policies and document patient records. Function as a sitter for patients needing full-time supervision. Work full-time, 72 hours per pay period, on night shift at Roane Medical Center.
