Job Summary

Welcome patients and families while creating a positive, caring experience. Escort patients to exam rooms, obtain patient histories, measure vital signs, and accurately document information within the electronic medical record. Assist with patient check-in and check-out, including scheduling appointments and verifying demographic and insurance information. Prepare, clean, stock, and maintain examination rooms and clinical equipment while following infection prevention and sterilization procedures. Maintain patient records and protected health information in accordance with HIPAA requirements. Communicate professionally and compassionately with patients, families, providers, and coworkers. Support daily practice operations through administrative projects and other duties as assigned. Work Monday-Thursday 1:00PM-8:30PM and Friday 1:00PM-5:00PM, with possible overtime to ensure patient care needs are met.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to meet Capital Area Pediatrics' immunization and health screening requirements
  • Ability to understand, follow, and carry out verbal and written instructions

Desired Qualifications

  • Enrollment in a healthcare-related degree program
  • Previous patient experience/customer service experience
  • Basic knowledge of HIPAA and OSHA guidelines
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask and remain composed in a fast-paced clinical environment
  • Professional, compassionate, and patient-centered approach to care
