Job Summary
Patient Care Assistant provides nursing support on the unit, assisting with patient care, basic clerical tasks, and equipment setup/maintenance. Responsibilities include responding to patient calls within 10 minutes, proactive rounds to anticipate needs, documenting care and vitals, measuring daily weight and intake/output, aiding with hygiene and mobility (turns every 2 hours, transfers), assisting with meals, maintaining clean rooms and safe environment, and communicating with the RN/charge nurse about patient status and plan of care. Requires CNA certification and English communication skills; BLS in healthcare, and LA Fire Life Safety Training as specified.
Required Qualifications
- High school or equivalent
- Graduate from an accreditedCertified Nursing Program (CNA)
- Ability to communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CA DPH)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider from American Heart Association
- Fire Life Safety Training (LA City)
