Job Summary
Patient Care Assistant provides nursing staff support on the unit, performing patient-care activities, documentation, and unit organization. Responsibilities include responding to patient calls within 10 minutes, assisting with daily living activities, vitals, intake/output, hygiene, ambulation, transfers, and meal assistance; maintaining clean and safe patient rooms and equipment; documenting care and communicating with RNs and staff; and contributing to the plan of care under RN direction. Requires completion of a Certified Nursing Program and CNA certification per LA City requirements, BLS, and related safety trainings; full-time night shift (12-hour) union role based in Los Angeles, CA at USC Keck facilities.
Required Qualifications
- Req High school or equivalent
- Req Specialized/technical training
- Graduate from an accredited Certified Nursing Program
- Grandfathered CNA Certification
- Pref 1 year Experience in a health care setting
- Req Ability to communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing
- Req Certified Nursing Assistant (CA DPH)
- Req Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider from American Heart Association
- Req Fire Life Safety Training (LA City) If no card upon hire, one must be obtained within 30 days of hire and maintained by renewal before expiration date
