Job Summary
Patient Care Assistant on a hospital unit provides nursing staff support and performs duties including vital signs, daily weight, intake and output, hygiene, ambulation and transfers, meal assistance, and documentation under RN direction; collaborates with RN on plan of care, ensures safety and cleanliness of the unit, and utilizes computerized systems for communication and care documentation. Requires High School or equivalent and CNA certification (grandfathered if applicable) with BLS; position is full-time, 12-hour day shifts in an acute care setting with union environment.
Required Qualifications
- Req High school or equivalent
- Req Specialized/technical training
- Graduate from an accredited Certified Nursing Program
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CA DPH)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider from American Heart Association
