Job Summary
Patient Billing & Financial Services Specialist at Claris Vision, LLC, onsite in Dartmouth, MA or Warwick, RI. Serves as primary contact for patients regarding account balances, insurance billing, statements, payment options, and financial responsibilities; explains patient financial responsibility (copayments, deductibles, coinsurance, non-covered services); researches and resolves billing inquiries by reviewing claims and account activity; collaborates with insurance follow-up, coding, collections, and front-office teams; assists patients with payment arrangements and financial assistance programs; processes payments by phone and documents interactions in the practice management system; identifies billing errors and escalates complex issues; educates patients on insurance benefits and billing processes while maintaining HIPAA compliance and aiming to meet quality, productivity, customer service, and collection performance standards.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of one year of customer service experience
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- One or more years of medical billing, healthcare customer service, or revenue cycle experience
- Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, commercial insurance plans, and patient responsibility calculations
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information
