Job Summary
Register patients, collect co-pays and payments, and enter registration information into the EMR. Receive persons presenting to the clinic reception area, handle incoming telephone calls, and assist with patient flow. Schedule patients efficiently, follow up for missed or cancelled appointments, and verify patient insurance eligibility prior to visits. Obtain pre-authorization for non-participating insurance, perform light bookkeeping, and maintain an appropriate office environment. Ensure patient records are accurate, complete, and confidential while complying with agency policies and regulatory requirements. Participate in quality improvement activities, patient recruitment, and referrals to external agencies. Work flexible hours including evenings and weekends, utilizing proficiency in common office software and eClinicalWorks EMR.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED
- 2 years of working experience
- Excellent customer service skills
- Experience in outpatient clinic reception
- Written and verbal communication skills in English
- Proficiency in common office software (Word, Excel)
- Ability to enter data accurately
- Ability to work both independently and in a team
- Ability to sit in front of computer long hours
- Demonstrated commitment to professional development
- Able to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
Desired Qualifications
- Some college education
- 1 year of working experience
- Experience working with people living with HIV/AIDS
- Ability to speak Spanish language
- Knowledge of eClinicalWorks EMR
