Patient Assistant - Oncology

Job Summary
The Patient Assistant greets patients and visitors, directs them to the appropriate department, assists with entry and movement within the practice (including providing wheelchairs), and supports front-desk operations. Responsibilities include answering questions, locating services or providers, stocking and delivering supplies (e.g., snack carts, lunches for chemotherapy patients), maintaining a welcoming environment, ensuring confidentiality, and performing related administrative tasks as assigned by supervision. Requires strong customer service, professionalism, teamwork, adaptability, and the ability to multi-task in a healthcare setting.
Required Qualifications
- One year of experience in customer service, preferably in the healthcare industry; or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Able to tolerate prolonged walking and standing.
- Must be able to work unsupervised, multi-task and relate tactfully to patients, their family and/or friends, as well as to the medical staff.
- Strong understanding of customer service principles.
- Excellent written and oral English language skills; ability to communicate with patients, families, staff, physicians, and others cordially and professionally.
