Job Summary
Pharmacy Technician II – Advanced performs complex sterile and non-sterile compounding, supports program and quality assurance activities, and handles data gathering, billing, and administrative coordination to assist pharmacists in delivering pharmaceutical care. The role includes potential mentoring/precepting of lower-level technicians, ongoing professional development, knowledge of specialized pharmacy programs (e.g., medication reconciliation), and ensuring compliance with Federal/State/local regulations and Trinity Health policies. Requires high school diploma or equivalent, current state licensure, and at least one year of pharmacy technician experience.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of one (1) year experience as a pharmacy technician
- Current pharmacy technician state licensure where employed
- Written and verbal communication skills to interpret and discuss technical information
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Ability to organize own work priorities and adapt to changes
- Ability to work concurrently on a variety of tasks in a potentially stressful environment
- Experience with unit dose medication preparation and sterile/non-sterile compounding
- Knowledge of medication reconciliation and pharmacy programs
- Commitment to ethical and professional behavior as per organizational policies
- Ability to maintain accurate charging, crediting, and billing records
