Job Summary
Patient Advocate at Whole Woman’s Health Alliance supports a multi-disciplinary practice in abortion care settings. Responsibilities include receptionist duties at the front desk, intake and discharge, financial tasks such as counting money and deposits, assisting in GYN practice (preparing charts, interviewing patients, setting up exams, assisting during exams), pathology lab support (sterilizing instruments, verifying procedures via pathology, handling samples, running routine tests, vital signs), surgical assistance during abortion procedures (preparing rooms, supplying instruments, assisting the doctor and patient), set up/recover during abortion sessions (prepping rooms, cleaning/stocking, IV starts, tracking patient flow, postoperative recovery), and lab technician duties (collecting blood, running tests, patient education on results), as well as ultrasound duties (pre-op sonograms, vaginal/abdominal techniques, patient comfort). The ideal candidate is bilingual (English/Spanish), holds a four-year bachelor’s degree (students currently enrolled also qualify), and demonstrates flexibility, problem-solving, strong communication, and willingness to learn across administrative, financial, medical, counseling, and customer-service areas. Additional requirements include Basic Life Support certification (biannually) and OSHA/PPE in-service training.
