Job Summary
Screen patients by telephone to determine eligibility for state, county, and federal assistance programs and identify areas of their needs. Initiate applications for appropriate state or federal agencies, provide detailed instructions on securing benefits, and advise patients of program time limitations and deadlines. Record thorough documentation on patient accounts in the CUBS system, contact government agencies when necessary, and follow up with assigned accounts until benefits are secured or billing information is obtained. Maintain positive relationships with patients and agencies while resolving accounts in a timely manner to meet daily productivity goals.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be able to sit for extended periods of time
- For Remote Work from Home - must have a quiet, private area to perform work
Desired Qualifications
- Prefer previous customer service/call center experience
- Prefer previous experience with medical coding or billing
- Proficient PC knowledge and the ability to type 30-40 wpm
- Ability to effectively work and communicate with coworkers, patients, and outside agencies
- Ability to present oneself in a courteous and professional manner at all times
- Ability to stay on task with little or no management supervision
- Demonstrate initiative and creativity in fulfilling job responsibilities
- Excellent organization skills
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a busy work environment
- Reliability of task completion and follow-up
