Job Summary
Screen self-pay patients at bedside for eligibility in government and non-government programs; identify all potential payors and route accounts in the Patient Accounting environment; obtain and complete the Confidential Financial Statement form; assist patients in applying for eligible benefits. Conduct interviews with patients and/or family; document activities in the patient accounting cycle; perform financial clearance including collections and determine eligibility for Financial Assistance; follow up on Government applications; establish effective communication with patients and hospital staff; conduct field visits to patient homes for skip tracing or document assistance; notify case management/social services of determinations and outcomes; work with multiple facilities and hospital platforms; bilingual Spanish preferred.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years work experience with Social Services or Hospital Admitting or related area
- Bi-lingual preferred (Spanish)
