Job Summary
Screen self-pay patients for eligibility in governmental and non-governmental programs; identify all potential payors (auto insurance, Workers' Compensation, commercial/private insurance, TPL, etc.) to route accounts in Patient Accounting; obtain and complete the Confidential Financial Statement form; assist patients with applying for benefits; conduct interviews with patients and/or family; document activities in patient accounting; perform financial clearance and follow up on government applications, including coordinating with case management, social services, and admissions; conduct field visits to patient homes for skip tracing or assisting with documents; communicate determinations and outcomes to hospital staff; bilingual in Spanish preferred; vaccination/screening confirmations may be required; hospital and office work environments with travel as needed.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years work experience with Social Services or Hospital Admitting or related area
- Bi-lingual preferred (Spanish)
- P/C systems literate including Windows, and Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word programs
