Job Summary
Greet patients promptly upon entry, answer internal telephone calls within three rings, and direct patients to appropriate departments. Verify insurance using the EHR system, collect payments, and update patient charts via the check-in software while maintaining efficient patient flow. Schedule and preschedule appointments, manage visitor logs, and ensure accurate end-of-day reconciliation of cash drawers and charge totals. Review emails twice daily, utilize MS Teams, and assist with medical data collection for reporting and grant applications. Attend scheduled meetings, record minutes, and complete quarterly training assignments as directed by the Patient Advocate Coordinator.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Must be organized, self-motivated, and detailed oriented
- Able to work independently and collaboratively within a team setting
- Demonstrates strong multitasking abilities in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Must be available to work flexible hours, including mornings and occasional extended shifts
- Must be flexible and willing to travel to other PMG clinical locations to provide coverage during Patient Advocate absences
- Working Knowledge of Multiline Telephone System
- Working Knowledge of Copier
- Working Knowledge of Computer & tablet devices
- Working Knowledge of Scanner
- Working Knowledge of Fax Machine and work process associated with secured fax system
- Working Knowledge of Calculator
- Proficient in navigating and operating Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel)
- Proficient in navigating and operating Luma
- Proficient in navigating and operating QueueMetrics
- Proficient in navigating and operating Nextgen
- Proficient in navigating and operating Various quality and insurance portals
- Effectively communicates complex and/or technical information to co-workers, patients and/or vendors in a clear, professional, and courteous manner
- Demonstrates strong front-facing customer service skills by engaging patients with warmth, empathy, and professionalism
- Maintains positive, respectful, and appropriate conversations at the front desk at all times, ensuring a welcoming and confidential environment
- Actively listens and responds to patient needs while upholding the values and service standards of Palms Medical Group
- Must follow universal precautions and infection control standards as mandated by federal state, and local regulations
Desired Qualifications
