Job Summary
The Patient Accounts Specialist – Customer Service will manage a high volume of inbound and outbound calls and emails from patients or their representatives regarding patient bill balances, payment plans, credit card payments, rebilling insurance companies, and general customer concerns, while verifying insurance coverage, assisting with payment plans, and entering billing information. The role requires knowledge of medical terminology, HIPAA compliance, and experience with billing/revenue-cycle processes, A/R resolution, and coordination with insurance providers. Strong communication skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment are essential; preferred qualifications include knowledge of dental terminology, coding guidelines (ICD-10, CPT-4, CDT-5), and CPC/CCS credentials.
