Job Summary
Patient Accounts Representative at Brown University Health is responsible for interviewing patients or patient representatives to obtain complete personal and financial information, validating insurance, obtaining authorizations, and financially clearing accounts for admission and ambulatory services. The role uses LifeChart and other systems to verify eligibility, establish payment plans, communicate with patients and families, and ensure accurate data collection for billing and pre-admission processes. Strong interpersonal skills, attention to HIPAA/privacy, and knowledge of third-party insurance verification and billing workflows are required.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Two year minimum experience in a hospital, physician setting or health insurance company
- Knowledge of third party health insurance authorization/validation
- Well developed interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to respectfully set payment arrangement terms and collect payments
- Epic ADT/Cadence and/or Billing experience (preferred)
