Job Summary
Greets patients in person and on the phone in a friendly and courteous manner. Resolves financial questions and assists with patients' accounts by verifying mailing addresses, contact information, insurance and demographics. Evaluates accounts for bad debt and sets up payment plans, including arrangements for high-dollar deductible plans, co-pays, and self-pay accounts. Collaborates with Insurance verification, Case management/UR/Discharge planner, and the EMR to ensure smooth financial transition for patients, updates records, and provides quotes for prompt-pay or time-of-service discounts. Posts payments and handles cash drawers, while maintaining HIPAA privacy and security. Occasional weekend work to support events; trains as needed; adheres to organizational policies and participates in continuous quality initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Must be at least 18 years of age (21 for positions requiring driving, with a valid driver’s license).
- Must successfully pass a background check.
- Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen and breath alcohol test (if applicable).
- Must complete an Employee Health meeting prior to starting employment.
- Two (2) years of customer service experience.
- Medical terminology experience
- Bilingual
