Job Summary
The Insurance Accounts Receivable/Patient Account Representative will research and rectify third-party insurance denials, edits, information requests, and related correspondence; maintain aged AR queues; review and appeal denied claims for bundling, medical coding, and contracting issues; follow up on all appeals; process corrected claims and support timely medical documentation requests; coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth AR operations; prepare reports to show AR status; requires knowledge of government, commercial, HMO, PPO, and other insurance billing guidelines across multiple states; strong analytical focus, attention to detail, and confidentiality, with a preferred hybrid schedule of 4 days/week in the Nashville office.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in insurance accounts receivable (prefer behavioral health)
- Knowledge of payer-specific billing requirements
- Highly organized with ability to track workflows through various tools
- Strict attention to detail with excellent organizational skills
- Customer service skills to work with insurance companies and teammates within the company
- Maintain a high level of integrity and confidentiality of medical information
