Job Summary
Manage billing and collection processes across outpatient pharmacy, durable medical equipment, skilled nursing, home health, and continuing care lines. Conduct service pre-certification, insurance coverage reviews, and personal responsibility determinations while handling claim submissions, denial reviews, rebilling, appeals, and accounts receivable management. Resolve account, billing, and payment issues for patients, physicians, nurses, pharmacists, technicians, and social workers by applying Mayo Clinic financial policies. Requires institutional insurance and reimbursement expertise with strong problem-solving and communication skills. Hybrid schedule within 100 miles of Mayo Clinic campuses.
Required Qualifications
- Institutional Insurance and reimbursement expert for one or more of the following business lines: outpatient pharmacy, durable medical equipment, skilled nursing facility, home health agency or continuing care retirement center
- Must be able to perform all aspects of the billing and collection processes for the individual business lines across the enterprise
- Must be able to handle service pre-certification
- Must be able to handle insurance coverage review
- Must be able to handle personal responsibility determination
- Must be able to communicate with patients
- Must be able to handle claim submissions
- Must be able to handle denial review
- Must be able to handle rebilling
- Must be able to handle appeals
- Must be able to manage accounts receivable
- Must utilize skills in problem solving
- Must utilize skills in customer service
- Must utilize skills in communications (verbal and written)
- Must be able to resolve a variety of account, billing and payment issues for patients, physicians, nurses, pharmacists, technicians and social workers
- Must be able to interpret Mayo Clinic policies regarding financial aspects of patient care
- Must be able to apply Mayo Clinic policies regarding financial aspects of patient care
- Must be able to communicate Mayo Clinic policies regarding financial aspects of patient care
- Must be able to assure optimal reimbursement for both the patient and Mayo Clinic
- Must be located within 100 miles of any of the Mayo Clinic campuses
