Job Summary
Patient Account Rep II/Cash Posting/Receivables Per Diem responsible for crediting receivables to appropriate accounts, posting daily receivables, researching credit balances, setting up refunds with authorization, batching cash, handling remittance advice, and maintaining records related to collections and bad debt. Duties include working with billers on credit balances, ensuring refunds are authorized, assisting with data processing backup, and providing excellent customer service to patients regarding bills and insurance forms. Requires strong communication, reliability, HIPAA privacy adherence, and ability to adapt to changing technologies in the hospital business office. Education required is High School Diploma or equivalent; two years of college or equivalent work experience preferred; 2 years in collection work and familiarity with medical terminology are required.
