Job Summary
Manage patient scheduling, registration, and financial collections while providing daily clerical support for the health center's primary care delivery. Collect co-pays and payments, verify insurance information, and create new patient accounts by entering registration data into the EMR. Check patients in and out for scheduled appointments, answer incoming calls, triage department inquiries, and assist with scheduling needs. Maintain accuracy of patient demographics and insurance details by scanning cards and updating income verification forms. Work in a fast-paced environment handling high call volumes while ensuring compliance with all policies, procedures, and laws. Requires high school diploma, medical terminology knowledge, and HIPAA certification.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology
- HIPAA knowledge
- Successful completion of a medical receptionist or related program
- 1 year of medical office experience
