Patient Access Specialist - PRN Day shift

Facilitate patient tracking and billing by obtaining and verifying accurate demographic information, securing financial responsibility from guarantors, and collecting out-of-pocket payments to maximize hospital reimbursement. Answer telephone inquiries professionally, record messages, and communicate with medical staff while providing and obtaining signatures on required forms and consents. Verify insurance benefits for all plans, confirm correct payors, obtain authorizations as needed, and scan registration and clinical documentation into the system. Maintain compliance with EMTALA, DNV, HIPAA, and other regulations by managing medical records, coordinating patient transfers, and responding to record requests. Keep cash drawers balanced, maintain logs of patients and payments, and ensure a clean working environment. Work day shift (7a-7p) in a 10-bed emergency department.
