Job Summary

Perform full patient registrations in the EHR, verify demographics and insurance, collect co-pays, and manage work queues. Conduct patient check-ins and check-outs, confirm appointment details, direct patients to waiting areas, and provide discharge instructions. Handle point-of-care scheduling for follow-up appointments and procedures, coordinating with clinical teams in the ED, Inpatient units, and Radiology. Act as a liaison between departments to support patient flow, assist with walk-in patients, and answer inquiries regarding services and wait times. Maintain HIPAA compliance and document all interactions accurately. Primarily on-site in patient-facing areas with variable shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays; casual positions require on-call rotation.

Required Qualifications

  • 12 Hours per Week- 6p-12a, on-call from 12a-6a, Every 3rd Weekend
  • 12 Hours per Week- 6a-6p, Every 3rd Weekend
  • Primarily on-site in patient-facing areas, such as the ED, Inpatient departments, Radiology, and walk-in clinics
  • Variable shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed, especially for ED and Inpatient coverage
  • Casual positions will be required to be on call
  • Staff may be asked to take on call for areas that are open 24/7

Desired Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent Preferred
  • Customer service experience Preferred
  • Experience in patient registration, healthcare administration, or a similar role within a hospital or clinical setting preferred
  • Bilingual skills preferred
  • candidates must pass a bilingual proficiency test to qualify for bilingual pay
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills, with a focus on patient-centered care
  • Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
  • Detail-oriented, with a commitment to accuracy in documentation and patient information
  • Effective communication skills for interacting with patients, families, and healthcare teams
