Patient Access Specialist - Full-time Night shift

Facilitate patient tracking and billing by obtaining and verifying accurate demographic information, securing financial responsibility from guarantors, and collecting out-of-pocket payments to maximize hospital reimbursement. Answer telephone inquiries professionally, record messages, and communicate with medical staff while providing and obtaining signatures on required forms and consents. Verify insurance benefits for all plans, confirm correct payors, and obtain insurance authorizations as needed. Scan registration and clinical documentation into the system, maintain medical records, and coordinate patient transfers. Maintain compliance with EMTALA, DNV, HIPAA, and other regulations while managing cash drawers, patient logs, and visitor/vendor logs. Keep the front desk, waiting room, and patient areas clean and notify staff of equipment malfunctions. Work night shifts (7p-7a) in a 10-bed emergency department at our Converse facility.
