Job Summary
Patient Access Specialist role within Northwestern Medicine focused on scheduling and directing patients through NMHC systems, collecting demographic and insurance information, performing medical-necessity checks, verifying insurance eligibility, and delivering high-level customer service. Responsibilities include responding to questions, routing issues to the Team Lead, maintaining patient confidentiality per HIPAA, scheduling appointments, communicating with physicians offices and hospital departments, handling out-of-pocket estimations, and supporting cross-training for coverage. Requires a High School diploma or equivalent and 2-3 years of customer service or medical office experience; strong communication, data-entry, English proficiency, and multi-tasking skills are essential. The position operates in Lake Forest, IL with an in-person work arrangement and a Full-Time Day shift (9:30 am - 6:00 pm). EOE including Disabled and Veterans.
Required Qualifications
