Patient Access Representative

Job Summary
Patient Access Representative responsibilities include greeting patients and families, obtaining and verifying demographic, clinical, financial and insurance information during registration, entering data in the patient accounting system, collecting patient signatures on forms, imaging/copying documents, processing signed physician orders, performing online eligibility/benefit verification for designated cases, notifying the patient/guarantor and collecting liabilities, and referring appropriate cases to financial counseling. The role may provide escort and directional support to patients, families, and visitors. Training includes two weeks of M-F, 8a-4:30p. Onsite location at Byron Center Campus. Minimum qualifications: 1 year of customer service experience and HS diploma or equivalent; HFMA CRCR or NAHAM CHAA required within one year of hire. Preferred knowledge in medical terminology and insurance verifications; knowledge of diagnostic and procedural coding is a plus. Essential functions emphasize data analysis, reporting, compliance with Trinity Health policies, and delivering compassionate, patient-centered care.
Required Qualifications
