Patient Access Representative

Obtain, verify, and enter complete demographic information to facilitate smooth processing through the revenue cycle. Search the patient accounting system for existing medical records to prevent duplicates in the master patient index. Financially secure all patient accounts by collecting out-of-pocket responsibilities from guarantors to maximize hospital reimbursement. Monitor assigned work queues daily to ensure all account elements are secured for billing. Pursue collections at the time of service and provide accurate documentation to maintain compliance with EMTALA, The Joint Commission, and government regulations. Identify non-resource patients for charity programs and refer them to financial counselors.
