Patient Access Representative

Greet patients and visitors in person or on the telephone to obtain demographic, financial, and medical information for registration and identification. Coordinate and assist in completing activities relating to patients' finances to facilitate billing and collection while adhering to department policies. Obtain, monitor, and expedite necessary authorizations and approvals for hospital outpatient services and elective surgeries per designated insurance carriers. Act as a resource and liaison for employees within the department and other inter-related hospital staff, as well as guests requiring assistance. This per diem role involves rotating shifts and provides access to limited patient health information related to the job function.
