Job Summary
Coordinate patient appointments, diagnostic testing, and pre-visit services while serving as the key contact for patients, families, and referring providers. Gather and enter patient information accurately, verify insurance coverage, and assist with financial clearance processes. Communicate with internal clinical teams to support hospital admissions and ensure patients understand next steps regarding access to care. Manage multiple priorities to deliver timely, professional service throughout the patient journey.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or High School Equivalency diploma
- equivalent of one (1) year of full-time experience in patient registration, patient scheduling, or insurance verification
- successful completion of a Patient Access Representative traineeship at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center (Roswell Park)
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience in patient registration, scheduling, or a similar healthcare support role
- Knowledge of insurance verification and/or basic financial clearance processes
- Exceptional customer service and communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
- The ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy
- Confidence working with computer systems and entering data efficiently
- A collaborative mindset and commitment to providing a positive patient experience
- Previous experience in registration/scheduling
- Insurance verification or basic financial clearance knowledge
- Exceptional customer service skills
