Job Summary
Register patients and greet visitors, verify demographics and insurance information, collect patient payments, and enter data into the hospital's EHR system to support efficient patient flow and accurate billing. Responsibilities include confirming patient encounter type, obtaining/scanning required documents, resolving registration errors, verifying insurance eligibility and coverage, explaining financial responsibilities and payment options, collecting co-pays/deductibles/balances, scheduling and rescheduling appointments, coordinating with clinical departments, maintaining patient records, and ensuring HIPAA compliance. Skills and abilities include familiarity with Epic, basic medical terminology, strong computer and data entry capabilities, and delivering an excellent patient experience in a front-desk/hospital environment.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (associate degree preferred)
- Previous experience in healthcare, registration, or administrative roles
