Welcome patients, visitors, and escorts them as necessary while verifying identification and assigning medical records. Collect and verify patient demographics, insurance eligibility, and financial responsibility, entering data into hospital computer systems to facilitate patient flow. Interview patients at bedside to facilitate solutions, educate them on financial responsibilities, and identify self-pay patients or payment plans. Ensure accurate execution of hospital policies, standard operating procedures, and regulatory requirements including HIPAA and ABNs. Communicate effectively with internal and external customers, utilizing interpreters when needed, while maintaining confidentiality and meeting performance standards for registration quality and collections.
