Job Summary
Greet patients, visitors, and caregivers upon arrival while collecting demographic, insurance, and medical history data. Verify patient insurance eligibility, schedule appointments, and collect copayments or identify outstanding balances. Respond to inquiries regarding routine and sensitive topics, direct telephone calls, and route messages or documents to appropriate staff. Update patient records, transmit correspondence, and maintain basic unit maintenance by keeping files organized. Abide by HIPAA regulations, utilize AIDET principles in all interactions, and report equipment or environmental issues for repair.
Required Qualifications
- 1 shift per week
- weekend availability
- At least one (1) year of experience in customer service
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend medical terminology
- PC (computer) skills
- Bi-lingual in English and Spanish
- Working knowledge of medical terminology
- Understanding of Insurance policies and procedures
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend written instructions

Desired Qualifications
