Job Summary
Greet patients and visitors professionally, answer incoming calls, and route messages appropriately. Complete pre-registration and registration by verifying demographic and insurance information, then schedule, reschedule, and confirm appointments for multiple providers. Collect co-payments and account balances while maintaining accurate patient records through updating and scanning forms, insurance cards, and identification. Assist with scheduling procedures at outside facilities, document cancellations and no-shows, and connect patients with Case Management resources for barriers to care.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- One year of experience in a medical office or other health care setting, or specialized education in a medical office program
- Experience with federally qualified health centers (FQHCs)
