Job Summary
Lead and supervise the patient access department, ensuring accurate patient registrations, scheduling of appointments, and insurance verification. Manage complex registration scenarios, oversee entry of demographic and insurance data into the EHR, coordinate scheduling for various services including specialized and follow-up appointments, and guide insurance verification processes. Provide mentorship and training to newer staff, develop strategies to enhance patient experience by minimizing wait times and maintaining a welcoming environment, and collaborate with providers and billing teams on verification matters.
Required Qualifications
- Associates Degree in Health Administration or related field
- 3-5 years of experience in patient access/healthcare administration or related field
- experience using patient registration and scheduling systems
- leadership or supervisory experience with a team
