Patient Access Representative | Laboratory

Job Summary

Welcome patients and complete patient registration and other access functions within the Laboratory. Verify and update demographic, insurance, and appointment information while collecting required documentation and entering data accurately. Answer patient questions, direct them to appropriate services, and resolve registration, scheduling, and insurance-related concerns. Informs patients of estimated liabilities, collects payments, and refers those needing financial assistance to counseling. Communicate with laboratory staff and clinical teams to support efficient patient flow and protect confidentiality. Work Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., as part of a collaborative team dedicated to delivering quality, compassionate care.

  • Able to remain organized in a busy, fast-paced healthcare environment
  • A strong communicator with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Comfortable using computers and learning new systems
  • Able to think critically and solve problems professionally
  • Willing to learn and contribute as part of a collaborative team
  • Previous experience in patient registration, scheduling, insurance, customer service, or healthcare
  • A consistent Monday-through-Friday daytime schedule
  • No regularly scheduled weekends or holidays
