Job Summary
Greet and welcome patients in person, collecting demographic and financial data while entering information into the electronic medical record. Check in with patients to complete paperwork, direct them to appointments, and resolve claim issues or registration errors. Verify insurance eligibility, explain cost information, collect co-pays, and screen patients for financial assistance programs. Provide customer service for inbound and outbound calls, obtain signatures, and gather medical record information as needed. Assist with request forms and submit them to the appropriate department. Work night shifts with variable start times, every other weekends, and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of customer service experience in a healthcare, retail, food service, bank/office settings, call center, or other settings that engages with customers
- 6+ months of revenue cycle experience in a healthcare/hospital setting (clinic/hospital registration, scheduling, prior authorization, insurance verification, medical billing and follow up, benefits eligibility, etc
- Intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Office products
- Ability to work an average of 36 hours/week, starting at either 8:30pm or 10:30pm
- Ability to work every other weekend, and holidays on a rotating basis
- Must be 18 years or older
- Epic Experience
- Experience with electronic medical records
- Consistent walking, standing, bending, turning, etc
- Lifting weight Up to 10 lbs. occasionally, up to 2-5 lbs. frequently
- Candidates are required to pass a drug test before beginning employment
