Job Summary
Patient Access Representative II handles scheduling, registration, patient pre-admission and admission, reception and discharge duties, and ensures accurate patient demographics and insurance/benefits information. Responsible for explaining and securing hospital/ patient consent forms, scanning Protected Health Information, and assisting with scheduling diagnostic procedures. Educates patients on financial liabilities, performs timely insurance verification and authorization processes, and supports post-discharge coordination as needed. Demonstrates customer service skills in a fast-paced hospital administration setting and adheres to Medicare/EMTALA and compliance standards.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 0 – 1 year in a Customer Service role
- 0 – 1 year administrative experience in medical facility, health insurance, or related area preferred
- Some college coursework is preferred
