Job Summary
Patient Access Representative II (Night shift) performs scheduling, registration, pre-admission/admission, reception and discharge tasks, and secures patient demographic information and insurance authorization. Responsibilities include patient liability collection, explaining and obtaining consent forms (e.g., Advance Directives, Medicare-related forms), scanning and organizing Protected Health Information, and assisting with scheduling procedures. Requires strong customer service and hospital operations knowledge, ability to verify insurance benefits and eligibility, and adherence to financial policies. Must be able to work in a fast-paced hospital environment with proficiency in data entry, 35 wpm typing, and basic PC/CRT usage. Educational requirement: High School Diploma or GED; 0–1 year in customer service and administrative experience in medical settings are preferred. Vaccination confirmations may be required. Location: Delray Beach, FL (US).
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 0 – 1 year in a Customer Service role
- 0 – 1 year administrative experience in medical facility, health insurance, or related area preferred
- Some college coursework is preferred
- Minimum typing skills of 35 wpm
- Demonstrated working knowledge of PC/CRT/printer
- Understanding of Third Party Payor requirements preferred
- Must be able to perform essential job duties in at least two Patient Access service areas including Emergency Department
