Job Summary
Coordinate with primary care physicians and insurance companies to obtain referrals and authorizations for office visits prior to scheduled appointments. Document all authorizations in the system and advise patients of potential authorization issues. Research and obtain authorizations on previously denied claims by coordinating with the Billing/Collections department and confirming benefits with the Benefit Verification Rep. Utilize insurance websites such as Availity, Humana Military, and United Healthcare to process requests while assuring compliance with company policies. Requires high school graduation, one year of healthcare experience, and strong communication skills to handle high call volumes. Full-time remote role based in Tampa Bay.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate
- 1 or more years of experience in a healthcare environment
- Must be detail oriented
- Able to multi-task and handle high call volumes
- Must have working knowledge of Windows based computer environment
- Must have typing skills
- Must reside in Tampa Bay Region
- Must undergo pre-employment drug screening and/or be subject to random drug testing
