Job Summary
Patient Access Representative II duties include greeting and registering patients, scheduling and coordinating admissions and procedures, handling insurance verification and authorization, collecting patient liabilities, and ensuring compliant adherence to Medicare/Medicaid requirements and hospital policies. Responsibilities involve accurate data entry of demographic information, processing registration at date of service, securing required forms (Advance Directives, consent, EMTALA-related documents), and facilitating post-discharge coordination when needed. Must demonstrate strong customer service, be able to operate in a fast-paced hospital environment, and maintain knowledge of third-party payor requirements and hospital cash control procedures. Requires minimum 35 wpm typing, PC/CRT proficiency, and ability to interpret physician orders and insurance information.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 0 – 1 year in a Customer Service role
- 0 – 1 year administrative experience in medical facility, health insurance, or related area preferred
- Some college coursework is preferred
