Job Summary
Interview patients and representatives to obtain demographics, secure insurance information, and verify eligibility. Operate a computer to input and retrieve data while performing PBX operator functions in reception areas. Move throughout the facility to assist in emergency drills and deliver services as assigned. Prioritize tasks in a high-volume environment with frequent interruptions while maintaining productivity and quality expectations. Provide positive internal and external communication to build customer satisfaction across all age groups. This role supports the Admitting department at Pomerene Hospital, a 25-bed rural community hospital in Millersburg, Ohio, dedicated to enhancing regional well-being.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED
- Must be able to operate a computer to input and retrieve data
- Must be able to communicate with the population served, utilizing age specific techniques from neonatal, pediatrics, adolescents, young adults, middle adult to geriatrics
- Maintain proficiency in medical terminology
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to multitask within multiple accounts in high volume insurance verification processes
