Job Summary
Registers patients for admission and completes necessary forms; verifies and enters patient information including name, chief complaint, and insurance details; ensures patient records are accurate and that required pre-admission information and authorizations are obtained; explains hospital policies regarding payment of service and collects payments; assists with identification and insurance card collection; verifies coverage and eligibility; operates PBX and paging systems; refers physicians on delinquency lists as needed; maintains patient confidentiality and a safe environment; performs duties with a focus on accurate data entry, insurance verification, and coordination with departments to ensure smooth admissions.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- One year of previous experience in a customer service role
- Basic Understanding of Medical Terminology
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Strong time management skills
- Ability to multitask and maintain a work pace appropriate to workload
- Excellent customer service skills
- Computer literacy and proficiency
- Hospital Fire and Life Safety Card within 30 days of hire date (Hollywood and Van Nuys only)
