Patient Access Representative I - (General Surgery)

Process financial clearance and patient pre-registration tasks within Patient Access Services. Interview patients and guarantors to collect information, verify insurance eligibility/benefits, and determine financial responsibilities. Perform registration, verify payer plans and billing details, and ensure appropriate referrals and treatment authorizations are obtained. Screen for financial counseling needs, coordinate with medical staff and payers, and communicate clearly to patients and families about expected costs and next steps. Maintain accurate records, handle referrals and eligibility assessments, and support smooth patient flow from admissions through discharge. Requires high school diploma or equivalent and 1-2 years healthcare experience preferred.
