Job Summary
Register and admit patients following hospital policy, ensuring accurate name and date of birth identifiers are used. Collect complete patient demographics, financial information, and medical records while scanning required documents. Coordinate new patient schedules with physicians, verify insurance eligibility, and obtain pre-certifications and authorizations. Process payments, collect valuables, and document medical necessity for failed tests. Maintain an accuracy score above 89% and assist with assigned duties. Requires proficiency in Cerner, medical terminology, and English. Hourly rate $22.88-$35.55.
Required Qualifications
- High school or equivalent
- Must have excellent communication skills, including the ability to speak, read and write English proficiently
- Must be comfortable with computers and medical terminology
- In depth knowledge of Cerner, most insurance types, and basic computer programs
- Demonstrate excellent customer service behavior
- Fire Life Safety Training (LA City) If no card upon hire, one must be obtained within 30 days of hire and maintained by renewal before expiration date. (Required within LA City only)
