Job Summary
Coordinate patient registration across Emergency Department, Admitting, Outpatient Lab, Imaging Center, and Pre-procedure areas by capturing accurate demographic, guarantor, contact, privacy, financial, and insurance information. Act as a liaison with patient families while collecting deposits, co-payments, and required signatures. Identify insurance data in the HIS system to ensure proper billing documentation and gather government-mandated statistical information via screening forms. Schedule patient appointments and enter required information accurately and timely. Interact professionally with staff and the public while working independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment. Requires full-time variable shift hours with 8-hour days.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Six months to one year minimum on the job experience
- Understanding of insurance coverage
- Understanding of medical terminology
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to exercise appropriate decision-making
- Typing speed 25 wpm
- Minimum 2-3 years' experience in Windows Operating System
- Minimum 2-3 years' experience in Windows based programs
Desired Qualifications
- Completion of college level medical terminology course
- Internet skills
